HEADLINE: DRABIK HANDED FIM WARSAW SPEEDWAY GP CALL-UP

Double FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Maksym Drabik lines up on his nation’s biggest stage after being named as FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw wild card.

Drabik rides in the famous No.16 race jacket at the iconic PGE Narodowy on May 14, where he joins Poland’s Speedway GP regulars, double world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, Maciej Janowski, Pawel Przedpelski and Patryk Dudek.

In a move to show solidarity with a neighbouring speedway nation, Ukraine will also be represented in Poland’s biggest speedway event after Vitalii Lisak was handed the second track reserve berth. He rides in the No.18 race jacket, and Lisak is sure to receive the warmest of welcomes at PGE Narodowy.

He is joined by first track reserve – FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Jakub Miskowiak of Poland, who lines up at No.17.

Drabik has made a fine start to the 2021 season with his PGE Ekstraliga club Lublin in Poland and also rides for Lejonen in Sweden’s Bauhaus Elitserien, where he teams up with Zmarzlik and Dudek.

The 24-year-old won the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship in both 2017 and 2019 to become only the third two-time champion in the competition’s history.

He has made two previous Speedway GP appearances, making his debut as a track reserve at the 2018 FIM Warsaw Speedway GP, scoring two points from two races. He then registered four as a wild card at the 2019 FIM Wroclaw Speedway GP. But with the Czestochowa-born ace in red-hot form, he will relish his latest opportunity to take on the sport’s elite under the PGE Narodowy roof.

Limited tickets for the FIM Warsaw Speedway GP are still available online. Don’t miss out! Book your seats for the PGE Narodowy showdown here now: https://www.kupbilet.pl/sgp2022.
