Michał Sikora, President of PZM:

The Most Important Team Speedway Event

The Speedway World Cup was held annually between 2001 and 2017. It was later replaced by the Speedway of Nations format (2018–2022). The cycle returned in 2023 and is now held every three years.

  • The first national team to win the SWC was Australia (2001). In the most recent edition (Wrocław, 2023), Poland came out on top, ahead of Great Britain and Denmark.
  • Poland holds the record for the most SWC victories – 9 titles.
  • The three national teams with the most total medals are Poland, Denmark, and Sweden (13 each).
  • Individually, Jarosław Hampel holds the record for the most gold medals – 6.
