Squads Named for 2026 BOLL FIM Speedway World Cup Final – Warsaw at PGE Narodowy
A galaxy of stars have been named in the squads for the 2026 BOLL FIM Speedway World Cup Final – Warsaw, which takes place at PGE Narodowy on August 29.
Hosts Poland take on 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations world champions Australia, Semi-Final 1 winners Great Britain and Semi-Final 2 victors Denmark in one of the biggest world team finals for generations at the iconic PGE Narodowy.
It will be a rerun of the 2023 FIM Speedway World Cup Final in Wroclaw, when the four nations were separated by just six points after a thrilling contest won by Poland.
The hosts will bid to claim their 10th world team title, but they face huge competition from three nations determined to spoil the party in the Polish capital during the biggest track racing event of 2026.
Starting positions confirmed
The starting positions for all four teams have been confirmed. Poland will race in red helmets, Great Britain in blue, Denmark in white and Australia in yellow.
Team managers have named squads of up to 10 riders. Ten days before the event, each nation must reduce its squad to a starting line-up of four riders plus one substitute at No. 5, who can be called into action at any time.
An incredible 12 of the 15 regular FIM Speedway Grand Prix riders are included across the four national squads.
Zmarzlik leads Poland
The Polish squad is captained by six-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik.
He is joined by reigning European champion Patryk Dudek, WWK Schwaiger & Partner FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut winner Kacper Woryna and 2025 FIM SGP Challenge winner Dominik Kubera.
National team manager Stanislaw Chomski has also selected former Speedway GP stars Maciej Janowski, Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Piotr Pawlicki and Szymon Wozniak.
Former SGP2 world champions Mateusz Cierniak and Wiktor Przyjemski complete the 10-man Polish squad.
Australia targeting first SWC gold since 2002
Australia qualified for the Final as 2025 FIM Speedway of Nations world champions.
Team manager Mark Lemon has selected the title-winning trio from Torun – captain Brady Kurtz, Jack Holder and Jason Doyle – as well as fellow Speedway GP star Max Fricke.
The men from Down Under will be bidding to win their first Speedway World Cup gold medal since 2002.
Their squad also features 2027 Speedway GP qualifier Rohan Tungate, 2020 World Under-21 champion Jaimon Lidsey, as well as Ryan Douglas, Ben Cook, Keynan Rew and Josh Pickering.
Great Britain led by Lambert and Bewley
Great Britain team manager Oliver Allen is aiming to guide the Lions to their first world title in the four-team format since 1989.
Their challenge is led by Speedway GP title contender Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley, who is bidding to recover from a broken femur in time to compete in one of his favourite events on the world speedway calendar.
They are joined by two-time FIM Speedway of Nations world champion Tom Brennan, former British champions Adam Ellis and Charles Wright, SGP2 star Will Cairns, British Under-21 champion Cooper Rushen, former SGP2 riders Dan Thompson and Leon Flint, and SON2 racer Luke Harrison.
Strong Danish squad after Riga victory
Danish team manager and four-time Speedway World Cup winner Nicki Pedersen has selected captain Michael Jepsen Jensen and the in-form Leon Madsen following Denmark’s victory in the 11.lv FIM Speedway World Cup Semi-Final 2 – Riga.
They are joined by BST FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla winner Anders Thomsen, three-time European champion Mikkel Michelsen and Danish Championship runner-up Frederik Jakobsen. All three were also part of Denmark’s winning line-up at Bikernieki.
Former Danish champion Rasmus Jensen, World Under-21 Championship runner-up Mads Hansen, SGP2 series leader Mikkel Andersen, Villads Nagel and new Danish Under-21 champion Bastian Pedersen complete the squad.
Denmark will be chasing their first world team title since 2014.
